up high on my list has to be when a jw co-worker named john fitzgerald tore into me one morning (when i was coming in late for work) for grabbing a quick piece of cake from the lunch room.
turns out, someone in this small little office had brought in the remainder of their birthday cake for folks at work to finish up eating.
john was older than i and a ministerial servant (ooh) and felt it his responsibility to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Lets see????
10 minutes before my wedding, the elder marrying us asked if our courtship had been "Chaste". In other words had we screwed around. I was floored, sure we had been good, a kiss and a cuddle once in a while but nothing further. He picked a hell of a time to ask!
I once had an elder over for dinner because his wife was out of town caring for her sick daughter. After dinner and a glass of wine he felt the need to tell me that he wished he had married a harlot! I chalked it up to the wine, but a week later he was having problems with his computer and asked me to look at it. While in a DOS mode I stumbled across a collection of internet porn to make a sailor blush!
Being imperfect and weak is one thing, being a hypocrite and a liar is despicable!

Angharad,
That movie freaked Sheila out too! We saw it 2 weeks ago on NP&M night. Last week we watched Darkness Falls. That was a scary one too. I keep yelling "Stay in the light!" to her at night. Reminds her of the movie, freaks her out.
If you get too scared, just snuggle up to old Simon, He'll protect you!

this is hilarious!
i am so surprised that the society has counsel on learning the klingon language.
*** g95 12/8 p. 8 a look at todays science fiction ***.
Those bastards! Does this mean I have to have my brow ridges removed???
Sucks to be a dub! A show about a society of people that hold life and knowledge above all else, where greed and perversions are a things of the past, sounds like paradise to me.
Maybe if the uniforms included a book bag??
K'Plah!

i love this website
http://www.asmincorp.com/thenleave/thenleave_001.htm
I looked at the site, in fact I stole one of their graphics for my desk top, the one of the eagle head with the flag. My impression of the site owners attitude was this.
It is understood that political tensions are running high and that the military action is not agreed upon as necessary by all. Fact is it is happening, American boys as well as those from the UK and other countries are dying for the furthering of human freedoms provided by democracy in a place where a rather vicious dictator was doing harm.
People who do nothing but bitch and moan about the situation, and offer no other alternative than to get rid of Bush, are annoying. I mean, how long does one have to complain about a situation that is out of their control? The site owner was just, in a very sarcastic way, giving an oppurtunity, for those sick of hearing the liberals and their endless complaints, to contribute to the purchase of air fare to give these folks a taste of life where their complaints might not be allowed, where their "right" to complain, might even be considered a crime.
Things are far from perfect in the good ole US of A, but in my opinion, there are very few countries that offer the freedoms and opportunities found in America.

i use to hate kissing.
i was a virgin until i was 19 and married.
i hadnt had a chance to experiment with kissing in my teenage years.
Now wait just a damned minute!!
I have no recolection of any such event! I vaguely remember giving a short speech, or so they tell me, but as much as I love our district overbeer, Thunder don't play that!
Now as far as memorable kissing,,,,, the first girl I ever kissed, walked into a wall when I was done! Oh and I can still raise goosebumps on the missus with a good lip lock!
It ain't braggin when its true.

i was watching one of the sports chanels the other day and saw an hour long story on mr. tyson.
there were several segments showing different prefight interviews.
his behavior at these gatherings was incorrigable.
TJ,
I get your point, and agree to a point. Remember though, baking soda doesn't fizz if you don't add the vinegar. Its a lot easier to scoop up and dispose of the dog $#!^ on the lawn than to sepend all day swatting flies. His actions and attitude incite racist feelings and encourage the exploitation he is subject to.He is an irritant that society doens't need in a world where the media fans the flames of biggotry at every opportunity. Case in point Mr. Bryant and his alleged crime.People love dirt, I would offer that the majority who pay to see him fight are hoping to see him get his arrogant ass kicked up around his ears.

JT,
I was inferring that as time passed and with the knowledge of how we were, we might strive to be better. Gladiatorial games of the past are well enough documented to show us the depravity of our ancestors. Are we stupider in our educated, civilized state of the "now" than the Romans were so many ages ago?

as some of you know i have been have a few health problems lately.. i went to the doctor today to pick up my application for a handicapped parking permit.
when we talked he said he would sign it for a year.. well he signed it as "permanent disability".
in one way this is good because if they don't figure out the problem and find a solution i won't have to keep applying for it.
LL,
Wish I had something profound to say. Hang in there and you will be in our thoughts.
